When an attendee is removed from a meeting that contains a DL, Outlook does not display the prompt Send updates only to added or deleted attendees. If Outlook let this occur, the individual attendee would receive only the meeting cancellation. This is not desired behavior and is why Outlook displays only the Save changes and send update prompt. In the popping up Send Update to Attendees dialog box, check the option of Send updates only to added or deleted attendees, and click the OK button. Note: Even if the new added attendee is included in the primary attendees that you sent to meeting invitation for the first time, the duplicate attendees will be removed automatically after. Step 2: Remove the attendees you will cancel the meeting for in the To box directly. Step 3: Click the Send Update button. Step 4: In the popping up Send Update to Attendees dialog box, check the option of Send updates only to added or deleted attendees, and click the OK button.

As it does every month, Microsoft has released the Office Insider build for Current Channel users on macOS for the month of May. The update bumps the build to 16.49.21050201 and brings with it a bunch of new features and Teams integrations to the suite of apps.

First up is PowerPoint, which is getting a new ‘Present in Teams’ button that helps users directly begin a slideshow in a Teams meeting. The button is situated in the top right corner of the menu bar and the firm says that the feature makes it easier to present to users’ audience, especially with remote meetings becoming the norm.

The firm also highlighted the support for linked data types in Excel. The company has been working to add a number of new, non-traditional data types over the past year, letting users pull in data not only from the web and other data sources but also create custom data types from the likes of PowerBI. The feature also provides smart templates for commonly used data types such as templates for the periodic table, stars and constellations, and more. Excel is also receiving a new ‘Accessibility Checker’ in the review tab that enables a contextual Accessibility ribbon to helps users create content that is friendly for those with accessibility needs.

Next up are improvements to Outlook. The email client is getting the Share to Teams feature unveiled in February this year, letting users easily share a copy of email messages to a Teams chat and comes with the capability to attach files. Users that do not have the desktop client installed can opt to use the web-based add-in, which can be installed via the More Options menu in the toolbar.

Lastly, a nifty addition coming to Outlook for the Mac is the option to save meeting invites along with attendee names. Previously, the addition of attendees would automatically update the ‘Save’ button to ‘Send’. Now, the tool offers the option to save a meeting invite, which is accessed from the drop-down next to the ‘Send’ button.

How to reschedule a meeting in your Outlook calendar

Update

1. Open your Outlook calendar, and double-click on the meeting to open its details page.

2. Change the time, date, length, or description within the meeting. It's often helpful to add a note letting attendees know why you're rescheduling — something as simple as 'scheduling conflict, need to move this to next week' will suffice.

3. Hit 'Send Update' and all your attendees will receive a notification alerting them to the adjustment and asking them to accept or deny. If you are merely adding new attendees and not changing timing, you can send the updates only to the newly added parties — a popup will appear asking if you want to only notify new attendees.

Another easy way to change the date of a meeting is to simply drag the meeting from one location on your calendar to another. Click and hold on the meeting, and drag it to a new time slot before clicking to send an update.
